Aisha Hinds is an American actress who is best recognized for her roles on the television shows The Shield and True Blood. Since her debut she has demonstrated her versatility by performing on shows like Under the Dome, 9-1-1 Detroit and 1-8-7. She was first noticed for her performance as Anna in the film Assault on Precinct 13. However it was her performance as the women's rights campaigner Fannie Lou Hamer from the documentary film All the Way that finally brought her recognition as an actor. Hind was praised for her portrayal of Harriet Tubman, in WGN America's historical drama Underground. She currently stars on the procedural drama series 9-1-1 in the leading role of firefighter/paramedic Henrietta Hen Wilson. 20th Century Fox Television renewed the show for a fresh season. Hind completed filming for Godzilla: King of the Monsters, a Hollywood blockbuster Godzilla: King of the Monsters that is scheduled to be released by the middle of 2019. Her father Krishnaraj is an Army Scientist who passed away on March 18 2017 and mother Vrinda have both been household workers. Aditya Rao is employed as a merchant navy engineer, is her elder sibling. His brother wrote and produced Dil Ka Rishta, along with his mother. Arya Vidya Mandir School was her high school in Mumbai following her move to the city along with her parents. After completing her intermediate studies in Jai Hind College, she began her studies at D.G. Ruparel College Matunga was where she earned a score of 90% on her H.S.C. exams. In her teens she spent five years learning classical music and dancing. Her passion was for zoology. Bachchan took a course in architecture after she won the title of Miss World 1994. This title launched her to the forefront of modeling. She also received an impressive contract with L'Oreal Paris as spokesmodel in 2003. Her acting career got off in a positive direction with praised parts in Iruvar (1997) as well as Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya (1997). Both films defied the basic form that was prevalent in Bollywood films at the time which pushed Bachchan to prominence in her own New Bollywood. With her heartbreaking portrayal as the lover who was smitten Paro in Devdas (2002) one of the most viewed Bollywood films and the first to be shown at the Cannes Film Festival Bachchan cemented her place as the new queen of Bollywood. After that, she was rewarded with high praise for her role as Chokher Bali (2003) an intense drama based on Rabindranath Tagore's novel. In that same year she served as the only Indian actress on the Cannes Film Festival jury. Bachchan was in Gurinder Chedha's Bride and Prejudice. This ballet-based musical reimagining of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice is directed by Gurinder. The beauty and fame of Bachchan was then merged in her first English film in the language. Prior to releasing Provoked: A True Story 2006 in English the actress returned to Bollywood to play the lead role in Dhoom: 2 (2006 smash hit). In April 2007, she was married to Abhishek Bachchan, a regular co-star, and child of Bollywood great Amitabh Bachchan in a marriage which brought together two of India's greatest people.
