Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel and jazz in his signature style. She's performed on Broadway and in the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Her real name is Denise White. She is originally from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her career in music by playing piano and singing at church. After graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she started her journey in music on Atlanta's R&B music scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single with her vocals was Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released only in Japan; it has been remixed since by a variety of producers and has become an essential part of her live set. Her voice also appeared on the soundtrack of The Fighting Temptations. She was named the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her singing and her music, invited Sunshine to sing in the Dreamgirls production during the Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained national recognition for 4 performances a day during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. She was invited to sing as part of President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
